Sermon text: Isaiah 40: 1-11

Sermon outline: I. God gives the words of comfort to his grieving people. Vv. 1-2
II. God’s glory guarantees the comfort God brings. Vv. 3-5
III. God’s word secures the comfort he provides his people. Vv. 6-8
IV. God’s character authenticates the comfort he delivers. Vv. 9-11
When the heinousness of sin is faced, then the announcement of
deliverance may be made. … To burdened sinners there can be no more
comforting declaration than that the time of burden has ended.
