Real Fellowship

Evening Worship at NCPC, July 3, 2016, audio from the sermon,”The Closer Reality of Biblical Fellowship, or Your Getting up in my Grill!

Sermon texts: Hebrews 10:24-25 & 3:12-13

A good summary comes from pen of D. Mathis as he compares Christian fellowship to The Fellowship of the Ring and then to football: This fellowship “is an all-in, life-or-death collective venture in the face of great evil and overwhelming opposition.” This sounds like membership in the church in the United States today to me, folks. Bringing it from the world of fantasy fiction to everyday life, Mathis says it like this: “True fellowship is less like friends gathered to watch the Super Bowl and more like players on the field in blood, sweat, and tears, huddled in the backfield only in preparation for the next down.”
